Beautiful Basement Renovation | Armonk, NY

Previously an unfinished basement, this renovation includes a new family room, sitting and game areas, billiards room, full bathroom, and a sizable wine cellar and a home gym. All the spaces were treated with a fine level of detail with traditional architectural moldings and cove lighting. Built into the spaces are an entertainment center, billiards cabinet, wet bar, and a bookcase. A remarkable project that reminds one of what can be done with an unfinished basement.

A space that could have been a lowly basement family room was elevated to a truly gorgeous space with the use of fine moldings, cove lighting and a built-in entertainment center and bookcase, all with fine architectural details.

To the side of the family room is this large fully equipped wet bar including wine fridge, dishwasher, goose-neck facet and tiled backsplash. Large leather and wood furniture is used to take advantage of the expansive space.

An overall view of the sitting area and family room shows the scale and continuation of the cove lighting and architectural details around the entire space. These horizontal elements work to visually relate the open spaces together, giving them a sense of unity.

These large repeating basement columns are well detailed and serve to hide the unattractive steel basement columns with-in.

This home gym located in the beautifully finished basement has full mirrored walls, wall mounted TV, and enough room for full-size exercise equipment. The glass between the gym and family room beyond allows for some separation of space and sound while not completely closing it off where it may be less likely to be used. Being open to the main basement spaces, it was important to continue the architectural details into the gym.

The main basement stair is beautifully detailed with delicate balusters and a wood handrail terminating at a curving volute on an extended final step.
